Store Manager

Amsterdam Flagship Store

As the Store Manager for Deus Ex Machina you are responsible for the management and daily operations of the Deus flagship store in the Herenstraat 13 in Amsterdam. You and your team must provide an outstanding level of customer service, ensure customer loyalty and maximize sales targets. In cooperation with the Deus NL family, you will help build Deus’ position in the Netherlands. You will report directly to the Managing Partners.

Tasks & Responsibilities of the Store Manager Deus Amsterdam:

  • Ensure an outstanding level of customer service at all times
  • Have an entrepreneurial approach in maximizing the EBITDA, mainly by steering on Revenue, Cogs and staff costs, while having limited resources.
  • Use Key Performance Indicators (KPI’S) as the basic management tool every day
  • Manage all administrative aspects of running a store, including schedule planning, budget planning, staff planning, general reporting, etc.
  • Lead, train and recruit the best possible team members of Sales Advisors
  • Develop the store’s visual identity and interior to the highest possible level
  • Buy-in and secure the Deus’ collection for the Amsterdam store, including third party products.
  • Able to co-lead the continuous Deus quality improvement by applying the Deus Quality Wheel on People, Process and Product.


  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing a high performing team and retail store
  • Sales driven, result-oriented and flexible
  • Ambitious self-starter, able to set goals for yourself and your team.
  • Energetic, hands-on and thrives in a busy & entrepreneurial working environment
  • Experience in training staff (sales, service & customer experience)
  • Passionate about the Deus culture & lifestyle and fully buy-in to the DNA of Deus Ex Machina

Deus Ex Machina (God of the Machines) was founded in 2006 by Dare Jennings & Carby Tuckwell in Australia. In the first place to build custom motorbikes and motorcycle parts, but soon thereafter they embraced the surf culture and art scene. Deus Apparel was a direct result of the strong culture they were building. Deus is all about art, surf, motorcycles, apparel; all fine things that make life good. Flagship stores are in Sydney, Milan, LA, Tokyo, Bali & Biarritz.
